Giant Swallowtail Butterfly, Usually found in the Tropics, showed up in my garden this spring.  Have you seen any unusual species this year?

A Peccary (also called a Javelina) the only wild pig in North America, we found this one in Arizona.  It didn't know what to make of the motorcycle, which gave us a good opportunity for a photo.

Week 2 Film

Dimming the Sun

If you chose to do the film review on this film, compare with either "An Inconvenient Truth" or "The Day the Earth Stood Still" (newer version), and read a journal article about research in Global Climate Change.  Your paper must be 3 pages, with references.   This is a compare/contrast paper, not a review of the film or it's merits in theater arts.  Study how the science is presented, how accurate it is portrayed, and if it is sensationalized or evocative, or simply states the science in a methodical fashion.  Go for scientific accuracy, not actors and scenery.

Fall 2009 ONLINE Class - Kyle Hunter needs your Geography weather questions.  Next week, you may enter your geography question by sending him a Twitter Tweet in this manner: @KyleHunter - Cuyamaca College: question text.  Then, twitter me @ListMakeLisa and I will watch for your question.  If it comes up on his newscast, you get an additional 5 points extra credit!  Don't forget to let me know that you are sending the question so I can watch for it and give you the points.

Fall 2009 Physical Geography Online and Physical Geography Lab UPDATE:

This assignment is on hold while Kyle Hunter is on vacation.  He'll be back later in the semester and you can try for this again then, or you may email me questions to forward to him.  If they are used in the nightly newscast during the weather, you get the 5 points.

If you want to get 5 points extra credit, watch Kyle Hunter and Twitter the answer to his nightly weather question.  This should be easy, since you have been through Physical Geography!  Twitter me (ListMakerLisa) with your screen name so I can give you credit for your answer (if it's correct, mind you.)  This is fun stuff.
